Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras
by: Bria Turner

Plop plop plop the sound of the smooth beads
The coconuts calling your name
It seems as if the stuffed bears run from you
Us waiting
for the next parade
Kings and Queens
Actors and Actresses
You look
You see
You wonder
These are the happiest moments
This is home
This is life
This is us
This is Mardi Gras

I used sibilance, onomatopoeia, and alliteration.

  1. Dear Bria,
I love how you chose to do a poem about Mardi Gras. The way you describe the beads and what you experience every parade. Good Job!
    Keep up the Good Job,
