short stories

I have found it very helpful to read the short stories in class. It is helpful to read these stories because they help me think about what I want to write my short story on. It has kind of made a path for me on the journey to writing my story. I really like the way we did annotations. Focusing on a specific part of the story. It helped me realize what kind of details I needed and other things of that nature!

I don't really understand if my short story should be something true like Da-Duh or a fiction story like Harrison Beregeron. Thats all I am really unsure about! I am thinking I should do a fiction story because I think it would be easier for me to just write and story that isn't true than think of a real life story and describe that incident.

Claire's Thoughts

Did I do all my homework thats due for tomorrow? Math? English? Science? Social Studies? Okay Im good! I cannot believe Jessica lied about who she was hanging out with this weekend. I guess she really didn't want me to know! I had fun with my best friends Simone, Caroline, and Charlotte . I wonder does Jason like me? People said he does but I JUST DON'T KNOWW. Its killing me.

I am exhausted I should go to sleep. I am so uncomfortable. I am starving I should have eaten dinner. I wonder if I cut my hair would I look the same or completely different. It was really hot today. I just sat in the house and watched Teen Wolf all day!

Reading Response 9/23

This week I finished The Fault in Our Stars. I love this book so much! There are so many cliff hangers that keep you reading! After everything happens you just hope for the best for everyone even though its  probably not possible. The Fault in Our Stars is the type of book that you could read 300 times and ever  get tired of it.  It is an epic romance that keeps you on your toes.

I am not really sure what my short story will be about but I am thinking about a  teenager girl going through some struggles with school and family but no one knows because she holds her head high and  keeps the pain to herself. She is the type of girl who could sad on the inside but by her facial expression no one would know.

e-book

I am really kind of nervous about people seeing my narrative because I feel like people will make fun of my paper or think it is stupid or things of that nature. The semi-public part is making it a little bit more comforting! I don't think I there are any names that needed to be changed because there are not many people in my story!


Well I am not really sure what would enhance my writing as in pictures or audio or videos I am thinking about getting help from my fellow classmates. I am thinking about making my title big and in a really pretty font with bright colors, but I am not really sure! I am thinking about adding a few pictures in.

Reading Response 9/16

I am nearly finished with The Fault in Our Stars. This whole week I think I have cried a total of 30 times because it gets just so emotional. You are happy for everyone and then something happens and you just want everything to be right again! There are so many twist and turns a its like a roller coaster, but on a roller coaster you always sit and enjoy the ride no matter what. I think that really explains this book!

I really just want everyone to read this book because I enjoy it so much that I think other people will love it as well. If you read this book you will feel the same way I feel about it!

Reading Response 9/3

I am still reading The Fault In Our Stars which is an amazing book! The author put so much feeling into! Every time I read it you can feel the emotions of the characters. I am emotionally attached to Hazel and Gus because they love each other so much you just don'y want anything to happened to either of them!

I don't want this book to end thats how much I love it! I think that anyone could read this book and just automatically fall in love! I recommend to anyone because thats how great I think it is! If you need a book to read then read this one!

I have a dream

"I Have a Dream" is more than just a speech to me. Its more like something to live by like a way of life. Coming for an African American teen I things have changed dramatically since the "I Have a Dream" speech. I believe he gave that speech not knowing he would effect the way I live or my family and friends. He knew for sure that we would reach the "promised land" but to me I think we haven't made it there yet but are making a lot of process! I hope I am alive when we do reach that point. 

This speech broke so many barriers. I feel honored to go to school with the people I got to school with now! Back when Martin Luther King Jr. was alive I think the kids would have loved to go to school without being harassed by people of a different race!

Dialogue

"Bria!" my mom screamed.

"What is it?" I asked running into the kitchen unsure what was going on. 

"You can't go to the football on Friday" she was angry. 

"Why not?" I yelled almost shedding a tear.

"Because you didn't do well on your math test!"She said with an angry tone in her voice

"Very few people did well on the test!" I screamed we are having like a yelling match at this point

 She starting to talk to me about how important test and grades were and that I still couldn't go.

Reading Response

One of my personal questions was what is love? I feel like The Fault in our Stars really explains what the meaning of love is. In this it shows that love has no boundaries what that means is that if you love someone then you love them if they are sick or healthy that anyone can fall in love. Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace are a great example of love and that can do crazy things to you.

My literacy narrative is going good! I am actually really surprised on how it turned out because in the beginning I thought it would be terrible, but after finishing and reading it I am proud of how it turned out. I am kind of struggling on being more vivid. I have a lot of vivid details but I feel like I need more! I hope everyone likes it.
